Douglas County KS Winery & Music Tour #1

We had a music event rained out at Trivedi last month, but I just noticed another great show this coming weekend. "No Bow Tie" is classically-trained and recorded guitarist John Svoboda who, performing with his wife, commits musical blasphemy by "[taking] the bow tie out of classical music, infusing centuries-old compositions with rebellious grooves from Blues, Bluegrass, and Rock." This is always a fun show, starting 6:00 PM Saturday in Trivedi's orchard just north of Lawrence. Maulik Trivedi, who trained in pharmacy at KU, produces his own wines. There will be a food truck at the wooded grove. BRING A LAWN CHAIR.

But... since some of you are coming out from KC, I suggest that we start out with a wine tasting at Davenport Orchards & Winery in Eudora, whose juice I highly recommend, and which is on your way, right on K-10.
