End of Spooky Season Backpacking in Pinckney State Rec Area

Let's get in one last backpacking trip before spooky season ends!
Meet at 2:00pm at the trailhead parking lot adjacent to Half Moon Lake day use area in Pinckney Recreation Area. We'll hike 5 miles counter-clockwise to Blind Lake where we'll camp for the night. The single reserved campsite has a picnic table and fire ring and there is an outhouse and water pump nearby.
On Saturday morning, we'll continue the loop, hiking 3.5 miles back to our cars with the goal of getting there well before lunch. You'll be back home in plenty of time to celebrate Halloween.
Sunset will be at 6:28pm. This would be a good opportunity to string some small battery powered twinkle lights in or around your tent for some nighttime ambiance. Will we hear any owls on the night before Halloween? Will ghostly shadows lurk in the forest around us? Only time will tell!
Paper trail maps will be provided at the start of the hike. A .gpx file will be provided to any participants via email upon request.
