Remote Hike - Kranskloof NW - Day Hike near Buffelspoort Dam

The Kranskloof Hiking Trail is found on the farm of Ronnie Bartlett (hence the other name of the trail). At the overnight camp the trail passes a dam before you ascend up the Magaliesberg mountain. Reaching the top, you pass strange rock formations and you can gaze into the beyond. Then you descend towards the kloof / gorge. The transformation of landscape from dry grassland to lush wet rainforest inside the gorge is breathtaking. You’ll find beautiful tree ferns and rocky streams which become stronger and where “boulder hopping” is one of the activities of the day. After a swim and break, it’s back to camp.
