Morning Hike near Hartebeespoort Dam
Vergenoegd is found on the slopes of the Magaliesberg with a view of Hartbeespoort dam. The hike to the top is roughly 6km but definitely worth the effort as you get to observe Cape vultures cruising thermals at eye level. This hike is challenging and in total 12km. There are more than 50 indigenous tree species and 200 bird species along with some other interesting wildlife. There are also artifacts and battlefield sites from the Anglo-Boer War.
