A remote overnight hike following the Hels River as it cuts through rugged bushveld to the Olifants River. Expect rocky riverbanks, natural pools, narrow gorges, and constant water crossings that make every step feel adventurous. Distance is manageable but terrain keeps it interesting, with long river walks and short climbs. Overnight wilderness camping among the trees in a a place that feels completely cut off from the world, because it is. Designed for backpackers who enjoy simplicity, campfire evenings, and falling asleep to flowing water in a truly wild setting.
Participation is based on a first come first serve basis. If the hike is filled up, we encourage you to add yourself to the waiting list. Often more spaces can be made available if required.
