Groenkloof Nature Reserve isn’t just a hike — it’s a walk through history. As Africa’s first proclaimed nature reserve, it offers proper bushveld vibes right in Pretoria.

Expect rolling hills, open plains, and well-marked trails that climb steadily to rewarding viewpoints. Along the way you’ll likely spot giraffe, zebra, kudu, impala, blue wildebeest and even ostrich roaming freely — not in the distance, but often right alongside the trail.

It’s the perfect mix of city convenience and real wildlife hiking — wide skies, good leg-work, and constant game sightings to keep things exciting.
