Local Morning Hike Rietvlei Nature Reserve near Pretoria

The extensive vlei areas and tributary streams support the scenic splendor of the azure blue Rietvlei Dam. The Reserve is made up of open grassland landscape that offers visitors a unique opportunity to view many species of animals. Some 1 600 head of game, including blesbuck, black wildebeest, red hartebeest, eland, Burchell's zebra, waterbuck, reedbuck, springbuck, mountain reedbuck, steenbuck and grey duiker can be viewed here. Rietvlei Natur Reserve is also home to larger aninals such as Rhino, Buffalo and Hippos
