Solid State Depot - The Boulder Makerspace

This recurring 2 hour Wednesday series is intended for SSD members or potential SSD members who are interested in or actively using the ceramics space. The goal is to build skills and community in our burgeoning ceramics space. Support will be available for member ceramics projects, ideas and potential struggles.

Everyone, regardless of experience, can plan to make a "hand built" plate (or several plates!) to take home later. We will use tools made in the wood shop and with 3-D printers in this project, bringing together some of the diverse resources that our maker space offers. Check out the picture to see what your end project might look like.

Suggested donation of $10 (depending on how much you make!) for members/ $40 for non-members to cover materials and firing.

Solid State Depot is a 100% volunteer run makerspace. The best way to find out about our makerspace, get questions answers, or sign-up to become a member is to swing by one of our Open Houses. Every Thursday evening from 5pm - 6pm (officially ends at 6pm, but feel free to swing by later and almost certainly someone will be there).

Join us for a FreeCAD project working session. Whether you're just starting out and looking for guidance with your first sketches, or you have a complex model and need assistance with more advanced features, we're here to help. Come hang out, work on your projects, and meet other FreeCAD enthusiasts!

Sometimes FreeCAD models can get broken in ways that are hard to figure out. If you have a model that isn't behaving the way you expect feel free to bring it and we can see if we can repair geometry, references, and logic.

There will not be any prepared teaching material during this meetup, however we can walk though relevant examples or specific challenges members are having as necessary on the big screen so everyone can see them. Recent classes include Intro to FreeCAD, and FreeCAD CAM Workbench (CNC) so I can provide slides and examples from those if you missed them.

If you can't make it for the whole time that's totally fine. This is an informal drop-in session so feel free to stop by whenever you can during the event even if it's only for a little while.

What to bring:

• Laptop with FreeCAD installed (SSD has a few loaner laptops if you don't have one handy)
• Power supply
• Mouse
• Any projects you are currently working on or ideas you'd like to get started on modelling
