Into to CAM with Fusion 360

Details

About the Class:
Fusion 360 is an incredible FREE tool for a lot of things, but particularly shines at Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Learn how to use Fusion 360 to generate machine toolpaths (GCode) for CNC machines. This class is intended to set you up for success in getting certified on any of the CNC machines at the solid state depot (Tormach or Shopbot). It is recommended (not required) that you attend the Fundamentals of Machining class prior to this one, as a lot of what we do in Fusion360 will make more sense then.

The class is free for all, but a $20 donation to the Solid State Depot is requested to help support the space.

Your Instructor: Carter has been using Fusion360 for the past 4 years, and has made dozens of parts with it on the makerspace's CNC machines.

The Path to CNC Mastery
This class is one of three recommended prerequisites to learning how to use the CNC machines at the makerspace. Intro to CAD w/ OnShape, Intro to CAM w/ Fusion 360, and Fundamentals of Machining. Provide the background knowledge that will set you up for success when you try to learn how to operate a CNC machine!
