Tool Training: Shop Bot (Wood CNC Router)

Who doesn't want to use a huge robot to carve incredible items out of raw stock? Nobody.

This is a tool training class on the Solid State Depots ShopBot a 4' x 8' CNC router. This is a complex and dangerous piece of equipment that must be treated with care, but if operated correctly can make some incredible parts. Before taking this class, it is recommended that you either understand the fundamentals of machining and are familiar with Fusion 360, or have taken those classes from the SSD beforehand.

This class will teach:

• Machine safety
• Basics of operating the machine
• Fundamentals of CNC machining
• Fundamentals of GCODE

This class will NOT teach CAD or CAM.

Depending on the number of attendees, we may have time to sign people off on their ability to operate the machine, if not smaller group sessions will be scheduled for individual sign-off after the class.

Class is free to all, but a $20 donation to Solid State Depot is requested.
