Build an Guitar Fuzz Pedal from Scratch! - Part 1

Details

This is a 4 part class. Each part is 1.5 hours long. You will receive a total of 6 hours of hands-on learning as you build your own electric guitar "fuzz" effect pedal ("stompbox")! There is a $25 materials fee to offset the cost of the fuzz pedal parts.

A looseleaf schematic and building guide will be provided provided. We will build the popular "Bazz Fuss" fuzz effect pedal. This circuit is very simple but creates a classic fuzz distortion sound. It is the perfect circuit for your first effect pedal. When you are done you will have your very own, battery powered fuzz effect pedal with volume control and footswitch in a durable, cast aluminum enclosure.

The instructor will guide you step by step in soldering the components, wires, and jacks together, drilling the appropriate holes in the enclosure, and then assembling and testing your completed effect pedal right in class! All tools, solder, soldering iron, and other items needed to build the effect pedal will be provided during class. The instructor will also discuss modifications you can make to the effect pedal as well as additional effect pedal projects you may wish to try on your own after the class is over.

This class is limited to three students so that each student can receive one-on-one, hands-on assistance from the instructor during each stage of the building process.
