Intro to Ceramics and Surface Decoration - 6 WEEK COURSE

Join us in our Ceramic Studio to learn various ceramic surface decoration techniques. From carving to slip trailing, wax resist and layering, we'll cover the basics of decorating your ceramic work in your own style. This is a 6 WEEK COURSE meeting every Wednesday from 6:30pm to 9:30 pm January 7 - February 11. Please sign up and attend all the classes, as each session will build upon the previous.

This is a beginner class, some experience previously is helpful, but not required. In the first few sessions, we will be form building, either on the wheel or by hand. Whatever vessel or vessels you create will be the basis for decoration techniques throughout the rest of the course. The pieces you create will be fired by the instructor, so you'll go home with finished products, assuming you attend all or most of the classes.

$50-100 suggested donation for the class to support the space and cover materials. If you have your own ceramic tools, and materials, please bring them along. Basics will be provided, but some sharing of specialty tools may be required. Come wearing clothes you can get dirty, and bring along an apron!
