03 Nov-Day 1 – Arrival in Tokyo
Upon arrival in Tokyo, you will make your way to the hotel. (Please note, you won't be able to check-in to the hotel until 1500, so if your flight arrives earlier there is the option to book an extra night at the hotel to ensure your room is ready when you arrive). Today is an arrival day so there are no planned activities. If you arrive in time, you can join your guide and the rest of the group for dinner to get to know your fellow travellers!Day 2 – Free Day in Tokyo
As this trip is a follows up to our " Best of Japan Trip " After breakfast you will have the day at leisure to explore all the hidden gems that you may have missed on our first trip.Day 3 – Into the Alps: Forest Monkeys, Mountain Castles & Hidden Japan
Today we ride the Shinkansen to Nagano, then venture into the forest to witness wild macaques at Jigokudani Monkey Park, where red leaves frame the bubbling hot springs. Continue to the historic town of Matsumoto, nestled in the Alps.Day 4 – Castles to Culture: Matsumoto to Kanazawa
Today we wander through the stately Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan’s oldest wooden keeps, surrounded by vibrant autumn trees. The calm charm of Nakamachi Street offers quaint Edo-era shops and local flavor. In the afternoon, we travel on to Kanazawa, a cultural gem still under the radar for many travelers.Day 5 – Timeless Beauty in Kanazawa
We will start our day in the exquisite Kenrokuen Garden, famous for its seasonal beauty and harmony. Explore the atmospheric Higashi Chaya Geisha District, where old teahouses still whisper of another era. While the city buzzes, pockets of tradition and quiet temples await discovery for those who stray from the main streets.Day 8 – Samurai Grandeur: Day Trip to Himeji Castle
Today we will head out for a day trip to the stunning Himeji Castle, Japan’s finest original fortress and a breathtaking sight against the autumn sky. Explore the nearby Kokoen Garden, a peaceful haven of ponds, pines, and koi. Return to Osaka and enjoy a more local side of the city in neighborhoods like Nakazakicho, known for its vintage shops and cafés.Day 9 – Sacred Peaks -Koyasan with Temple Stay
Today we will leave the cities behind as we journey to Mount Koya, a sacred Buddhist enclave tucked in the mountains. Walk among ancient cedar trees in Okunoin Cemetery, lit by stone lanterns and colored leaves. Spend the night in a temple lodging (shukubo), joining monks for shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian meals) and morning meditation—an unforgettable, off-the-grid experience.Day 10 – Fly to Sapporo- Hokkaido’s Heartland
Today we fly north to Sapporo, to the vibrant capital of Hokkaido. Take in the brisk air and vibrant food culture, perhaps with a bowl of steaming miso ramen after a stroll through Odori Park dressed in fall colours.Day 11 – Explore Sapporo
Today we uncover Hokkaido’s unique charm at the Shiroi Koibito Chocolate Factory, followed by fresh seafood at the Wholesale Fish Market. Learn about the island’s brewing heritage at the Sapporo Beer Museum, a red-brick time capsule of Meiji-era industry.Day 12 – Coastal Charms: Day Trip to Otaru
Today we venture to the port town of Otaru, a hidden gem that feels like stepping into a storybook. We explore the canal district, browse handmade glassware and music boxes, and sip coffee in century-old warehouses as the hills blaze with autumn hues.Day 13 – Free Day in Sapporo
Choose relaxation or discovery—whether it’s an Onsen soak, art park wander, or shopping in hidden arcades, today is yours to savor.16 Nov- Day 14 –**Farewell Japan- Departure from Sapporo
Enjoy a light stroll through Sapporo’s peaceful parks or a final snack from the airport’s famous Ramen Dojo before heading home from New Chitose Airport. Say sayonara to Japan with memories of crimson leaves, mountain temples, and local treasures found off the well-trodden path.
The price of the above tour is £3299.00 for all bookings made by 1st Sep 2025 (please enquire about a price increase after this date). The price does not include flights from the UK. We will give the go ahead to book flights once we have a minimum of 5 people paid their deposits. The sooner you book, the better deals you will be able to get on flights so it is advised to book early. A non refundable deposit of £250.00 via bank transfer will secure you a place on the trip.Travel Insurance is mandatory for all trips. Visas are not required for British passport holders, if you hold an alternative passport please get in touch. Please ensure you have 6 months validity on your passport.
