7.5 mile circular hike from Compton Martin with optional lunch afterwards

Parking - there is very limited parking in Compton Martin so I have sought permission to park at the car park by the Old Sawmill, Ubley. Car park is opposite side to the Old Sawmill. From there, we will car share so only take 4 cars to park at the Ring O Bells pub. Those who are not planning to stay for the lunch - I can quickly drop you back at the Saw Mills after the walk. Please do NOT go and park in pub. Please note start time of 10:20am - this is so we can leave the car park at 10:30am promptly. If delayed, please let me know asap.

This is a lovely countryside trail in the Mendip Hills National Landscape (AONB), exploring the area between Charterhouse and Compton Martin. This trail takes in a mix of minor roads, bridleways and footpaths. I will be honest and confess there is a bit of a climb at the beginning of the walk - but always good to get the steep bit done when you’ve got fresh legs . After that, it is fairly flat.
Dogs are welcome on the walk although there is livestockock in many of the fields.
Halfway round we will stop for a quick break - please bring your own refreshments for this.

If you wish to stay for lunch, I must have your pre-order by **Tuesday 30th September **

The table has been booked for 2pm. Dogs are welcome in the pub.

I suggest a change of footwear may be beneficial for the pub as some of the paths are beginning to be a little muddier with the recent rain.

WEATHER
If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
If the weather is horrendous on the day it will be cancelled on the morning of the walk, by 8:00 am
