Stanton Drew to Chew Valley Lake – Approx. 6.8 miles
Sunday, October 19th - 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
Meeting Point – The Cove / Druid’s Arms Car Park, Stanton Drew. BS39 4EJ.

Free parking is available at The Cove (next to the Druid’s Arms) in Stanton Drew. If very busy, there is additional parking in the School field opposite.

From Stanton Drew we will head off down Sandy Lane and across the fields towards Chew Magna, turning south (by-passing the village), following the river Chew down to the Lake.

We can take a break at the Lake for snacks from Salt & Malt, or your own lunch if you brought one along, before continuing around the Lake Walk on the Grebe Trail.

After passing through the Bittern Trail, bird hide and boardwalk, we will head north again across the fields, past the Pony pub, back to Stanton Drew.

Once back, those so inclined can visit the Stanton Drew Circles and Stones, 3 minutes down the road.

We can stop for a drink in the Druid’s after the walk, and they have confirmed food may be available if they are not too busy, but I haven’t booked a table. Feel free to book with them directly if you wanted to guarantee a meal.

This is a fairly flat walk with only one small uphill section.
