Cheddar Gorge and Velvet Bottom Circular - 7.5 miles
Details
POSTPONED
Don’t like doing this but as there is a yellow weather warning with the forecast being rain all day we discussed at the event tonight and agreee to postpone this event until Friday (19th December)
I will repost the event so others get the notification too - in case that suits them now.
Thanks for your understanding and apologies for short notice - always hopeful that it could change.
Last midweek walk for 2025!
I did a recce of this walk today and, as there's not too many of us going, we should be able to park on the street although please show consideration for local residents (Silver St, Westacre Rd, Orchard Way). This will save the dull 20 minute road walk.
I suggest we all meet outside the Gardeners Arms pub on Silver Street at 10:30am.
For those who wish to, I have booked a table at the Lion Rock Cafe at 1:30pm for tea and cake afterwards - or they have a lunch menu for those who would like something more substantial.
The walk will take us the usual route up either side of the gorge and also include Velvet Bottom Nature Reserve,
We can stop halfway round, if people wish, for a snack/lunch break.
Be prepared to steep climbs and possibly slippery paths.
£1 fee is payable on the day and this is to help towards the subscription fee for use of Meet Up App
