Mells River Walk – Approx. 7.5 miles
Details
Meeting Point – Outside the Talbot Inn, Mells, at the junction of Selwood Street and New St. BA11 3PN
We will set out past St Andrews Church, across the lane and field to join up with the Mells River Walk footpath. This leads onto the East Mendip Way, which we will follow to Great Elm. After enjoying some of the paths around the Mells River and Fordbury Water, we will go up onto the old Railway Line / Colliers Way, to head back to Mells.
We’ll find a spot for a short break half way round for lunch.
Once back at Mells, there will be the option for a drinks and snacks at either Mells Walled Garden, or the Talbot Inn.
Please ensure appropriate footwear, as some parts of the walk may be wet and muddy.
Parking
Free parking is available at the Recreation Ground Car Park. Longfield, Mells, BA11 3QB
There are also usually some spaces along Selwood St, closer to the Talbot Inn.
Lunch
There is no pre-booked meal for this walk, but we will take a break approx. half way round for those bringing their own packed lunch.

WEATHER
If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
If the weather is horrendous on the day it will be cancelled on the morning of the walk, by 9:00 am
