Wellow Somerset Coal Canal Walk ~7 mile walk (inc. optional lunch)
Details
Meeting Point – Meet by 10:15 for a 10:30 start, In Wellow Station Road Car Par. BA2 8QB.
Leaving Wellow by St Julian’s Church, we have an initial short, sharp climb up to Twinhoe. From here we’ll drop down into Combe Hay, and follow the old Coal Canal on to Midford.
After stopping for a break at the old Midford Station for snacks and drinks, we’ll set out back to Wellow along the Two Tunnels old railway path, across a few fields and past the ford.
Once back in Wellow, we will finish at The Fox and Badger Pub for an optional lunch. See picture for menu.
Please ensure appropriate footwear, as some parts of the walk may be wet and muddy.
Parking
Free parking is available at Wellow Station Road Car Par. BA2 8QB.
If the car par is full, additional parking can be found along the High St, especially opposite the church.
Lunch
Please check picture for the lunch menu options, and comment on your preferred food choice when registering. Or you can message me directly if you have issues with the app. We will take a break approx. half way round for those bringing their own packed lunch.

If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
If the weather is horrendous on the day it will be cancelled on the morning of the walk, by 9:00 am
