Rowberrow Warren Wood 7 miles (nearly) with optional pub lunch

Meet point
We will meet at The Swan Inn, Rowberrow BS25 1QL at 10:15am for a 10:30am departure. Car parking fee is £3 - however, if you stay for drink or lunch on pub afterwards the parking is free.

Walk
This trail that takes you through Rowberrow Warren Wood and up Beacon Batch in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Beacon Batch is the summit area of Black Down and the highest point in the Mendip Hills AONB, offering stunning views towards Severn, Wales, and the rest of Bristol.

The walk consists of some reasonable inclines and some declines are steeper than normal so sturdy walking boots and poles would be beneficial.

Lunch
Please indicate in your RSVP if you would like to stay for lunch afterwards as I can book a table. The Swan Inn is a Butcombe pub so they have 25% off food on Wednesdays! You will need to download their App beforehand to claim this discount.

Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome on the walk although they will need to be on a short lead for most of the walk.

Somerset Singles walking group:
£1 fee is payable on the day and this is to help towards the subscription fee for use of the Meet Up App.

WEATHER
If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
If the weather is horrendous on the day it will be cancelled on the morning of the walk, by 8:00 am
