Orchardleigh Estate Walk (+ optional lunch) – Approx 6 miles

Meeting Point – Meet by 10:15 for a 10:30 start. Orchardleigh Golf Club Car Park, Frome. BA11 2PB

Join us for a walk around the Orchardleigh Estate. These days the Estate functions primarily as a luxury wedding venue and golf course.

For the walk, We will loop around the Estate using a mix of footpaths, fields and on the main Orchardleigh Drive.
During the walk we will visit St Mary’s Island Church, Lullington Village, Orchardleigh Airstrip, Orchardleigh House and Elmhay Park, and hopefully see a variety of wildlife.

A short stop is planned half way round (hopefully at the church if its quiet) for a food and drink break.

A table has been booked in the Peacock Restaurant at the Golf Club at 2pm for Sunday Roasts, but I don’t have the menus yet. Pease indicate when you register if you would be interested in lunch after the walk, and I will circulate the menu once available to select choices.

Please ensure appropriate footwear, as some parts of the walk may be wet and muddy.

Please Note:

1. Be careful along the main drive on arrival, as there will likely be a lot of pheasants roaming freely on or near the road.
2. Please bring a change of footwear/clothing if you are staying for lunch, as the restaurant is quite smart and we wouldn’t want to drag in any mud or debris from the estate, especially if its wet.

This is a relatively easy and flat walk with only a couple of short uphill sections. 350ft elevation.

Please arrive at 10.15 for a 10.30 start and consider car sharing if possible.

There will be a 20 minute break half way around the walk for those that want a quick snack.

DOGS:
Regrettably, this walk is not really suitable for dogs due to Estate restrictions, wildlife and the fact we will be walking through the middle of the golf course.
