Our "Wellness Waves" branch is all about getting our steps in while discussing science-backed books on nutrition and vibrant living.

For our Kickoff, we are diving into the fascinating and eye-opening book, Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us by Michael Moss.

We’ll explore how the processed food industry engineers our cravings and what we can do to reclaim our health.

🌅 How It Works (The Walk & Talk):
We’ll meet up by the pavilion at Nassau Bay Park.

First, we’ll hit the trails for a refreshing, casual 2-mile walk along the water to get our blood flowing. Afterward, we’ll grab a seat at the park's picnic tables for a fun, guided discussion about the book.

📍 The Details:

• When: Saturday, July 11, 2026 @ 9:00 AM (Let's beat the Texas heat!)
• Where: Nassau Bay Park (18900 Upper Bay Rd, Nassau Bay, TX 77058). Look for me near the main pavilion/picnic tables!
• What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, a bottle of water, and your thoughts on the book. (Even if you haven't finished the whole book, please still come!)

Welcome to the Grand Kickoff of our Seaside Socials branch of Somewhere by the Sea!
If you love spicy thrillers, messy domestic dramas, and edge-of-your-seat fiction, this is your harbor.

The Seaside Socials track is all about high-energy, page-turning fun, coastal vibes, and a great "girlfriend hangout" atmosphere.

For our very first meetup, we are jumping right in.

While we will be voting on our books in the future, we are moving quickly to catch the summer wave, so I have hand-selected the perfect coastal thriller to get us started: She Started It by Sian Gilbert.

This captivating psychological thriller is perfect for our coastal theme. A group of five old friends are invited to a luxurious hen party on a private Caribbean island. As the idyllic vacation turns into a terrifying nightmare, old secrets surface, and the group realizes their mysterious hostess might be playing a deadly game of revenge.

We’ll be meeting upstairs in the large table area at Chelsea Wine Bar. It's an incredibly cozy spot with a great deck overlooking the water in El Lago—the perfect backdrop for chatting about plot twists and making new friends.

Welcome to our August Wellness Waves meetup!

If you enjoyed our kickoff or if you are joining us for the first time, you are in for a refreshing morning.
This month, we are focusing on mental clarity, decluttering, and intentional living.

We will be discussing the inspiring and practical book, Goodbye, Things: The New Japanese Minimalism by Fumio Sasaki. We’ll explore how parting with physical excess can lead to a lighter, more focused, and ultimately healthier life.

We’ll meet up at the main pavilion at Rustic Oaks Park. First, we’ll hit the shaded trails for a comfortable 2-mile walk to clear our heads and get some movement in. Afterward, we’ll gather back at the pavilion for a relaxed, guided discussion about the book and how we can apply its minimalist principles to our own lives.
