Pollinator Meadow Restoration Project Volunteer Work Day

SMC will be restoring a 1-acre plot of a traditionally mowed turf field into a native pollinator meadow. Our goals are to create and manage habitat for native NJ bees, butterflies, moths, and birds and increase pollinator biodiversity and populations. This is the first phase of a multi-phase project.
PHASE 1: SITE PREPARATION
Sunday, August 7th: Install Greenhouse Plastic Volunteer Day
Time: 9am-12pm & 1-3pm. You can sign up for morning, afternoon, or both!

Description: We will be working in teams to install 1-acre of greenhouse plastic to begin the solarization process for SMC's Pollinator Meadow Restoration Project. Work will be labor-intensive and will require digging and measuring. Participants must be 15 years+; below 18, a parent's signature on the liability waiver form is needed. We are hoping to get ~50 volunteers so please help us spread the word!

What to Bring: Lots of water, lunch, snacks, sunscreen. Bring gloves if you have them. Wear clothing that can get dirty. Wear sneakers or boots. No open toe shoes.
