SMR Mayapple Trail Runs

Runners are invited to register for the 17th annual Mayapple Trail Runs to be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in beautiful South Mountain Reservation in Essex County, N.J. based out of the Locust Grove Picnic Area, 197 Glen Avenue, Millburn.
The races are organized by the volunteers of the South Mountain Conservancy (SMC) with the support of the Essex County Parks Department.
The USA Track and Field sanctioned races provide an informal but supportive trail race environment for runners who are up to the challenge of completing 5, 10, or 20 miles, or ultra-marathoon distances of 50K (31 miles) and 50 miles. There is also an informal, untimed one-mile race for kids 14 and under. Starting times depend on the race. The 50k and 50 mile races start at 8:30. All proceeds support the mission of the Conservancy as a steward and advocate for the park and its public programs.
