Come and join the Conservancy and our local watershed ambassador, Betsy Chernoff, for a short course on assessing streams, specifically the West Branch of the Rahway River in the South Mountain Reservation. Wear your rainboots or low waders if you want to hop in and help sample the not-so-deep waters and conduct a habitat and biological stream assessment. We will explore the ecological quality of the river, in addition to water quality, by collecting macro-invertebrates, aquatic insects. Our data will then be submitted to the EPA for review. Meet at the Boy Scout camping area off Cherry Lane. Go to the left (north) as you turn into Tulip Springs (see map). Looking forward to seeing you.
