Let’s Be Better Partners by Understanding Our Attachment Styles

Details

Why do some people make us feel calm, safe, and connected while others leave us feeling uncertain or guarded? Understanding attachment styles helps us see ourselves more clearly and better understand the people we choose to love.

In our first event, we will explore attachment styles – the patterns we bring into dating and relationships based on our past experiences.

I will share a quick overview of the four styles (secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized), then we will open the circle for conversation.

Together we will share stories from our own dating and relationship journeys, reflect on what we have learned, and uncover ways we can grow toward healthier, more secure connections.

This is not about labeling ourselves or staying stuck in a box. It is about understanding why we show up the way we do and using that insight to create better relationships in the future.

WHEN? Saturday August 23, 10am-1130am

WHERE? Cheesman Park (more details below)

WHAT TO BRING? You will want to bring a blanket, yoga mat, or chair (we will be sitting on the ground). You may also want to bring your favorite drink and some sunscreen. We may or may not be in shade.

FORMAT (approximate)

  • 10:00 Meet at the Pavilion - We will gather here first so it’s easy to find each other. Once everyone arrives, we will walk together to choose our spot on the grass.
  • 10:10 Check In - A quick round where each person shares one word or sentence about how they are arriving today.
  • 10:20 Topic Spark - A short introduction to the day’s theme with relatable examples to spark ideas and connection.
  • 10:30 Conversation Circle - An open space to share stories, listen deeply, and reflect together with no pressure to speak.
  • 11:25 Closing Round - A final moment for anyone to share a takeaway or piece of gratitude before we wrap up.

ADDITIONAL INFO

This is not a dating event.

It is a conscious space for singles who want more than small talk. We come together to share openly, learn from each other’s experiences, and grow into the kind of partners we want to be.

If you can't attend, no sweat, we just ask that you keep your RSVP current!
