Hosted in Sound Collective’s New York City studios, this two-hour session focuses on one question: how do artists actually get paid? You’ll learn from a working NYC artist and leave the workshop with an honest look at the industry, a sense of the business landscape and the knowledge of what questions to ask next.

Hosted in our NYC studios, the session covers the core fundamentals: how DJs read a track, control tempo, cue the next song, and move between records without breaking the energy. A professional DJ walks you through the basics on industry-standard gear, then puts you behind the decks to try it yourself.
This is not a lecture or a feature tour. It is a genuine first session with real DJs, built to give you an honest read on whether DJing is a craft you want to pursue further.
