DJ Basics Workshop

DJ Basics is a free, hands-on 2-hour workshop that gives you a real introduction to what DJing actually involves. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session covers the core fundamentals: how DJs read a track, control tempo, cue the next song, and move between records without breaking the energy. A professional DJ walks you through the basics on industry-standard gear, then puts you behind the decks to try it yourself.

​This is not a lecture or a feature tour. It is a genuine first session with real DJs, built to give you an honest read on whether DJing is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No experience or prerequisites required. However, RSVP is required.

Workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot. If all workstations are taken by the time you arrive, you’re still more than welcome to join the session, observe, and jump on the gear during open practice time!
