Vinyl Basics Workshop

Vinyl Basics is a free, hands-on workshop designed for anyone wanting to learn how to DJ using real records. Hosted in Sound Collective’s New York City studios, you’ll learn how DJs operate turntables, cue up tracks, beatmatch entirely by ear, and execute smooth blends on analog gear. Whether you’ve never touched a record deck or have been curious about classic vinyl DJing for years, the Vinyl Basics workshop gives you a real first experience spinning records from scratch. No experience or prerequisites required. However, RSVP is required.

Workstations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot. If all workstations are taken by the time you arrive, you’re still more than welcome to join the session, observe, and jump on the gear during open practice time!
