What we’re about
Hello and Welcome!! A little about me, I have been facilitating soundbaths & drum circles for 3 years. I started in this field over 20 years ago starting out as massage therapist then adding energy work and have added many, many modalities over the years. I have been hosting meetup groups for over 10 years.
This group will focus on Soundbath & Shamanic drum circles!! I will share other spiritual events as they come up.
Typically I will have 1 soundbath & 1 drum circle each month. I do the drum circles either on the new or full moon. There will be more details listed in the event. Below is general information for each modality.
WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
It is basically a therapeutic and meditative experience whereby you “bathe” in the sounds and vibrations produced by different instruments such as gongs, tuning forks, and crystal bowls. Through these sounds and vibrations, your mind enters a meditative and relaxed state. This brings about healing at mental, emotional, and physical levels.
During a sound bath, the brainwave state is altered from normal waking state (beta) to relaxed state (alpha), dreamlike state (theta), and even restorative state (delta). As the mind and body relax, the heart rate and blood pressure decrease and our breathing become deeper. It is in this state that deep healing can occur.
Thus, a sound bath not only reduces stress and anxiety by inducing a state of relaxation, but it also has physiological benefits. These include a reduction in pain, better sleep, removal of toxins, and strengthening of immune systems.
What Is Shamanic Drumming?
Shamanic drumming is a time-honored method of healing and helping others. Shamanic drum circles provide the opportunity for people of like mind to unite for the attainment of a shared objective. There is power in drumming alone, but that power recombines and multiplies on many simultaneous levels in a group of drummers. The drums draw individual energies together, unifying them into a consolidated force.
The shamanic drumming circle is a facilitated circle, but instead of facilitating a musical event, the leader facilitates a shamanic journey. The drumming, considered a form of prayer or trance induction, is simple. The steady beat of the drum acts as a “lifeline” that helps the participants return to their ordinary consciousness.
