Montera Mountain w/ Puerto 27

Cool and (hopefully) magnificent, ocean views.
This hike is approximately 7 miles, with 1669’ elevation gain. There is a shaded, forested loop at the beginning and end that is fairly steep, and, while it shouldn’t have you crying for your mamma, IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINNERS. The upper portion is a fairly level and unshaded ridgeline that should provide beautiful ocean views.
Parking is $6, but savvy spendthrifts report there is ample free street parking outside the park, a short walk away.
There are bathrooms at the trailhead.

Only those few heroic hikers who finish this hike alive will get to go to lunch at Puerto 27 Restaurant at 525 Crespi Dr. Pacifica, CA 94044, set on a hillside with great views of the ocean and a short 10 minute drive from the trailhead. The cuisine is Peruvian but should have something for every palate. And why not try a Pisco Sour, the national drink of Peru, but also claimed by Chili? Check out their reviews and menu.
