Fall Creek (from SLV H.S.) w/Cowboy Bar

IMPORTANT: THIS HIKE DOES NOT USE THE FELTON EMPIRE ROAD PARKING LOT. Meetup is in the San Lorenzo H.S. parking lot at 7105 California 9 · Felton, CA
We will start this hike from the parking lot and then hike up High School Trail and head south to Fall Creek Fire Road,, The Fall Creek Trail, South Fork Trail to the Cape Horn Trail, North Fork Trail, Fall Creek Fire Road Trail, High School Trail and back .Approx 7 miles and 1000' elevation gain.
Some of the trails are steep, rugged and narrow in places, with protruding tree roots and rocks so watch your step. Ticks and poison oak are also risks. But this hike is well worth it as it is truly one of the most scenic, serene hikes the Santa Cruz Mountains have to offer.
There are restrooms at the school which may or may not be open. Plan accordingly.

After the hike it's off to Cowboy Bar Restaurant at 5447 HWY 9, Felton and their beautiful patio, where even non-cowfolk like us can order up tastee viddles. Horses, 10 gallon hats, and requests for Sarsaparilla are permitted, but six-gun duels and calling the waitstaff "missy" is not.

ATTENDANCE: If you are signed up for a hike, or on the waitlist, please remove yourself to the "not going " list as soon as you become unsure about attending, so another wait lister can have adequate notice that they are going. Also, it is not okay to just show up to a hike you are not listed as "going" to. Hikers who violate these policies will have that information noted on their permanent record, and their parents may be notified.
