Henry Coe with Rosie's at the Beach
Details
It is our decades old policy to visit Henry Coe after the dog days of summer. We can do a 7.3 mile 1300’ elevation gain loop on Corral, Fish, Middle Ridge and Flat Frog Trails. This hike is guaranteed to be awesome as it is listed in '101 Great Hikes of the San Francisco Bay Area"
PLEASE NOTE THE 8:30 am START TIME so we can get parking.
The trail is rated moderate, but has a pretty serious incline from mile 2 to 3.6 that will get your heart pumping. There are reports of some poison oak and a few ticks on this loop, so long pants and sleeves are best. About 50% shade , so don’t forget water, sunscreen and hats. But best of all, most hikers report having the trail to themselves, or, in our case, with 19 other friendly positive hikers.
It is imperative that we carpool. Parking can fill up early. Fairly long drive so why not cruise along with your fellow hikers in a carpool? It helps preserve parking spaces and minimize the effects of climate change. And more importantly, consider this: What if extraterrestrials decided to abduct solo drivers on Dunne Ave for their nefarious purposes? Wouldn't it be nice to just toss them a carpooler and be on your way? I'm just sayin.

Weather forecast is for a perfect 70 degree afternoon that can be spent noshing on the patio of Rosie's at the Beach 17320 Monterey Rd., Morgan Hill. Lots of menu items for your discerning palate. PLEASE REMEMBER TO MULTIPLY YOUR BILL BY 1.3 (FOR TAX AND TIP) AND TRY TO BRING CASH.
The IOPQ will be: When was the last time you quit something? (i.e. a job? smoking? skydiving? etc.)
ATTENDANCE: If you are signed up for a hike, or on the waitlist, please remove yourself to the "not going " list as soon as you become unsure about attending, so another waitlister can have adequate notice that they are going. Also, it is not okay to just show up to a hike you are not listed as "going" to. Hikers who violate these policies will have that information noted on their permanent record, and their parents may be notified.
DO NOT ATTEND if you're experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, have a compromised immune system, or if you've been exposed to or tested positive for COVID-19.
