Its easy to overlook the El Sereno Open Space as its access is sort of off the beaten path. This hike will start in a Residential neighborhood. We will first walk the mean streets of Los Gatos, up to the Aquinas Trailhead and head up the hill and then on to the Serenity Trail to the Lexington Vista. It is strictly forbidden by local ordinance to be stressed out on the Serenity Trail. The first (and last) .8 miles are thru a residential neighborhood so please be respectful. The hike is an out and back total of about 7 miles and about 1300' of elevation gain. One of the reviewers spotted a mountain lion, so stay alert. There are reports of some poison oak and a few ticks on this loop, so long pants and sleeves are best. Nice views from the top. About 50% shade , don’t forget sunscreen and hats, and a tranquilizer dart gun for the mountain lion.

Looks like plentiful street parking on the east side of Madrone Ave. without having to park in front of anyone's house.
Carpooling is very much encouraged as the parking is in a residential neighborhood.

Note that there are no restrooms available so plan accordingly.
After the hike it's just a 5 minute drive to Willow St. at 20 S. Los Gatos Blvd
