Almaden Quicksilver (Mockingbird Hill Entrance) w/Lazy Dog
Details
Note: this hike starts at the Mockingbird Hill entrance to Almaden Quicksilver Park. The New Almaden, Randol, Santa Isabel, and Hacienda trail loop is approx. 7 miles with 1027' elevation gain. It is about 50/50 shaded, steep at the beginning and end so be sure to bring enough water, electrolytes, hiking poles, and sunscreen. With temps predicted in the 60s during our hiking hours, it should be a perfect hiking day , unless you prefer the excitement of a near death experience that hiking here in the August heat provides.
FREE, FREE
There are free restrooms and free parking at the lot.
Carpooling encouraged:https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/xteip9
After the hike, lets rest our lazy dogs while chomping on the cuisine at Lazy Dog , 5305 Almaden Expwy, San Jose, CA.
The IOPQ this week will be: What is your favorite restaurant you have eaten at with this group?
ATTENDANCE: If you are signed up for a hike, or on the waitlist, please remove yourself to the "not going " list as soon as you become unsure about attending, so another waitlister can have adequate notice that they are going. Hikers who violate these policies will have that information noted on their permanent record, and their parents may be notified.
