What we’re about
This group is for anyone who is interested in creating and sharing art.
All mediums such as charcoal, water color, oil paint, etc. are welcome. All skill levels are welcome as well.
For our group's events, you'll find a mix of outdoor painting, life painting, portrait parties and photography and the locations vary from as far North as San Francisco to as far South as Monterey for the outdoor painting.
A note about dues: I started recently collecting dues to help to cover meetup.com's fees and to help limit the group to only active members. If you don't want to use the meetup.com platform for collecting payment that's totally fine. You can pay at kmacinto@gmail.com via Venmo or Paypal. You can also pay me cash at one of the upcoming events. Send me a direct message if you have any questions about alternative payment methods.
I try to host a few painting workshops a year, but I should say that most events aren't classes or workshops in that I consider the group more of a social group who's members enjoy creating and sharing art with other artists. That being said, if you've got questions, are looking for a critique, or are stuck on something feel free to ask for help though. We really do have a nice mix of experienced artists who are happy to help.

Hi everyone!
Jaladhi and I are excited to do the half-sheet painting session again. We'd love for you to join us out on HW 1!
We'll be holding two "Show and Tell" sessions:- Session 1: 12:30 PM for those working on smaller paintings
- Session 2: 2:30 PM for those with larger paintings
Parking: Available on the side of HW 1 (free)
Restrooms: About a 5-minute walk to the small café/restaurants area by HW 1.
Directions: When heading north on HW 1, pass Davenport Roadhouse and other restaurants. Then, keep an eye on the left side — we'll meet at the very next parking lot on that side.
Looking forward to painting and sharing with you all! 🎨😊

What to bring:
• Art Supplies - Bring all of your own art supplies for whatever medium you are using e.g. paints, surfaces, brushes, pencils and cleaning supplies. For any beginners who don't know how to start or have questions feel free to post in the comments section or DM me through meetup.com's message service.
• Easels - If you're painting please bring your easel or whatever you use to paint outdoors.
• Outdoor wear - We will be outdoors for most of 3 hours so bring layers, hats, sunscreen.
• Snacks/food - Most of the locations we paint at don't have food/drinks so bring whatever food/drinks you require.
• Most of the places we paint at have picnic tables or benches, but if you need to sit when you art, be sure to bring something to sit on just in case.
• A good test to ensure you have everything you need is to set up to paint in your own yard for 2-3 hours. If you bring everything it takes to create art in your yard then you'll have everything you need to paint with us :)
• A portable chair if you like to sit. Not all of the locations we paint at have picnic tables or benches.
Extra info:
• We usually paint in public places. People outside of the group will generally come up and see what you're doing. Usually they just compliment and walk by and sometimes they'll stop and chat a bit. For me this took a little getting used to, but I really enjoy it now and it's become one my favorite things about painting and sketching outdoors. Please don't scare anyone away :)
• Observe all signs. Especially the "keep off" ones.
• Stay on paths, but do not block them.
• Empty any painting fluids off-site including dirty water color water.
• Take your garbage with you.

Hi everyone!
We're excited to announce another Coast Plein Air session, featuring one of my favorite spots along HW1. Jaladhi and I are looking forward to another half-sheet painting adventure, and we’d love for you to join us on this beautiful beach!
Here's the schedule for our "Show and Tell" sessions:- Session 1: 12:30 PM for those working on smaller paintings
- Session 2: 2:15 PM for those with larger works
Details:
- Parking: Available free of charge on the east side of Pacific Hwy.
- Restrooms: Located in the parking lot — please see the website below for details.
- Directions: Follow the posted map or click the "Gray Whale Cove Info" link below.
Since parking is on the east side of HW1 and the beach is on the west side, we'll need to cross the highway and follow the trail down to the shore. To stay safe and visible, I suggest we meet at the parking lot around 9:15 AM and cross together.
If you're running late, no worries — we’ll meet you directly at the beach!
Looking forward to creating and sharing art with you all! 🎨🌊- Gray Whale Cove Info: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=528
