About us
## What We’re About
This group is for anyone interested in creating and sharing art.
All mediums are welcome—charcoal, watercolor, oil paint, and more—and all skill levels are encouraged to join. Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience, you’ll find a welcoming space here.
Our events include a mix of outdoor painting, life drawing, portrait parties, and photography sessions. Locations vary from San Francisco in the north to Monterey in the south, offering inspiring backdrops for creativity.
### About Dues
I’ve recently started collecting dues to help cover Meetup.com’s fees and to keep the group focused on active members.
If you’d rather not use Meetup.com for payments, that’s no problem. You can pay via Venmo or PayPal at **kmacinto@gmail.com**, or in cash at an upcoming event. If you need another option, send me a direct message and we’ll work it out.
### Workshops & Community
I try to host a few painting workshops each year, but most events aren’t formal classes. Think of this group more as a social community of artists who enjoy creating together. That said, if you’re ever stuck, need a critique, or just want advice, feel free to ask. We have a wonderful mix of experienced artists who are happy to share knowledge.

Jenn T is going to host this event at the California History Center at DeAnza College. The California History Center (CHC) is a museum, research library, and educational institution dedicated to state, regional, and local history, located on the De Anza College campus in Cupertino, California. It operates out of Le Petit Trianon, a historic country estate built in 1895, designed by famed architect Willis Polk, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
What to bring
• Art Supplies – Bring all of your own art supplies for whatever medium you are using (paints, drawing supplies, surfaces, brushes, water containers, cleaning supplies, etc.). If you're new and have questions about what to bring, feel free to post in the comments or send me a message through Meetup.
• Easel – If you're painting, please bring your easel. I do have an extra French Easel, a Gorilla Painter Pochade Box, and tripod that I'm happy to lend for the day. Just let me know in the comments beforehand so I remember to bring them.
• Outdoor Wear – We'll be outdoors for most of the session, so dress in layers and bring a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.
• Snacks/Food – Please bring any food or drinks you'll want during the event.
• Chair (Optional) – If you prefer to sit while creating your art, bring a portable chair or stool.
• A good test to make sure you have everything you need is to set up and paint in your own yard for three hours. If you have everything you need there, you'll have everything you need for this event. 🙂Extra Info
• We'll be painting in a shared public space. Visitors may stop to watch, ask questions, or compliment your artwork. It's one of my favorite parts of plein air painting, so please be friendly and welcoming.
• Please be respectful of the horses and riders. Avoid blocking pathways, gates, arenas, or barn entrances, and give horses plenty of space if they are moving through the property.
• Observe any posted signs and stay out of areas that are marked as private or restricted.
• Empty any painting solvents or dirty watercolor water off-site.
• Please pack out everything you bring, including trash.
