Last Minute Sunday Walk

### 🌿 Ulistac Natural Area Walk – Santa Clara
Join us for a relaxed 3–3.5-mile walk at a comfortable pace, ideal for adults who enjoy being outside and connecting without pressure.
Meeting location:
We’ll meet at Lick Mill Park, near the community room. I’ll be holding a “South Bay Coffee Walks” sign so you can easily find the group.
Optional pre-walk social:
For anyone who’d like to bring your favorite coffee or tea ☕🍵 and socialize beforehand, I’ll be at the park starting at 9:40 AM. This is optional. We’ll head out for the walk promptly at 10:00 AM.
The walk:
From Lick Mill Park, we’ll walk across the street into Ulistac Natural Area, exploring the trails through this 40-acre nature preserve. We’ll then continue along the levee trail beside the Guadalupe River, completing a scenic loop before returning to the park.
A $1 donation is welcome to help cover Meetup fees 💛
### A Bit About Ulistac
I love walking here not only for the natural beauty 🌸🦋, but for the layers of history held in this land. Ulistac was originally home to the Ohlone people — the name means “place where baskets are woven” 🧺. Over time, the land passed through many uses, including Spanish settlement, Mexican ranching, farming, and even a golf course ⛳. Thanks to long-term restoration efforts by the City of Santa Clara and dedicated volunteers 🤝, it has been returned to a thriving natural habitat for birds 🐦, butterflies 🦋, and other wildlife.
