You will be tutored by Jonny Kemp, an artist known locally for his South Drawood exhibition, portraits of local people shown in Stanley Arts. Jonny appeared on Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year in 2023, and completed his MA in Fine Art in 2025.
Sessions are informally tutored, allowing you freedom to draw but with friendly, constructive feedback.
Both portait and life drawing skills mutually benefit the other, so it’s great to try both!
We will be drawing from live models. Basic materials are provided (pencils, charcoal, erasers, paper) but feel free to bring your own dry materials. We also have a kitchen on site for tea, coffee and biscuits!
This class is suitable for absolute beginners as well as more practised artists.
Where: St Mark’s church hall, Albert Road, SE25 4JD.
When: Thursday evenings, 7-9pm.
Sessions are drop in and payable on the door for £18, but can be booked in advance here for a discounted rate of £15.
Note: if you find you cannot make it, I can transfer tickets to another date up to 24 hours before the time of the class; please email me. I cannot leave it later as I have to cover the cost of the venue and model! Thank you for your understanding
