We will walk in the Billy Frank, Jr. Nisqually Wildlife Refuge today. You will need to register for the walk at the Chevron Station on Martin Way then drive to other side of the freeway to the Wildlife Refuge. Please allow time for the drive over. There's a park entrance fee of $3/single or family. Children under 16, holders of Golden Eagle, Golden Age, Golden Access Passport of Federal Duck Stamps are FREE. Make sure these items are with you. The Visitors Center and main restrooms may or may not be open. There are port-a-potties provided. (AVA Online Start Box also available)

The Nisqually Refuge has become an important place for wildlife and migratory birds. Bring your binoculars if you're interested in viewing.

We'll be walking out and back on the remaining part of the dike road, and out along the boardwalks with viewing areas. There is a 5K and a 10K route. This is volksmarch YRE 0838 and rated 1B for flat surfaces with some uneven footing.

NO DOGS on this one.

Directions: From North or South on I-5 take exit 114. Make your way to the Chevron Station on the east side of the freeway for registration. Then cross under the freeway and follow the signs to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge.

Everyone must register before the walk. IVV credit is $3.00. Guests are always welcome and donations to support volkssports are appreciated.,
