Steilacoom was the first incorporated town in Washington. People there intend to keep its small-town atmosphere. Walk through town to the ferry terminal that goes to McNeil and Anderson Islands. Walk is on city sidewalks and two short trails through the historic town of Steilacoom, site of the first Territorial Jail, library and Protestant Church north of the Columbia River. Steilacoom was the original capital of Washington State. The Catholic Mission has been in continual use since 1867. Pass ferry dock and the old Steilacoom Railroad Station (no-longer used for passenger service). Views of Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and various islands served by the ferry.

This is volkssport year-round event Y0635. This route is rated 2B which means there are some hills. Pets are welcome, but not in buildings. Leash and cleanup, please.

Arrive early as the walk starts promptly at 1:30 PM.
Everyone must register before the walk. This walk is hosted by the Evergreen Wanderers. Those who stamp books will pay $3. But, because the club has costs to put on these walks, we ask guests for a donation.
