Walk Point Defiance Park 5/11K Walk
Details
We walk around the park on road shoulders with the many great viewpoints of the Sound. Pass by the WPA constructed replica of Ft. Nisqually. Cross over the Wilson Way footbridge to Dune Park and back to Point Defiance Park. The 11K will then circle the park on the 5-Mile Loop. The 5K will cut across the park next to the zoo. This is volkssport year-round walk Y366, rated 2B due to hills on the route.
The walk starts at the Boathouse Marina and Tackle Shop near Anthony's Restaurant. Park in back of Anthony's by the Tackle Shop.
Arrive early as the walk starts promptly at 10 am. Everyone must register before the walk. For those wanting IVV credit, the cost is $3.00. For others, a donation of $3.00 is encouraged to help pay for meet-up charges and walk box information are always welcome. (AVA Online Start Box also available)
