Evergreen Wanderers invites you to join us to walk this great area. There are two loops from the VFW Hall: A 5.5km (3.4 miles) loop, mostly flat on pavement and a few road shoulders going south through a park, neighborhoods with unique gardens, a pioneer stone church, the historic Sherman block and magnificent views of Commencement Bay. It will only have a few turns marked, but you will be provided with directions and map.
And,
A 7km (4.3 miles) loop going north, downhill to Point Ruston Public Market, Dune Park, up over the bridge to Pt. Defiance gardens and pond, and up through the unique sites of the town of Ruston. Some hills down and gradually back up. This loop is not marked, but directions and maps are provided.

There are 2 ways you can participate:
1. If you want to walk by yourself or with family or friends, come anytime between 9am and noon. Register, get directions and walk one or both loops. The checkpoint or finish for both loops is the VFW Hall. You MUST be back well before 3pm, as we must close-up and leave the building.
Or,
2. If you want to walk with a group, a friendship walk will be led by Buffy Wittenberg starting promptly at 10am. You must register and be ready to walk by 9:45am. Buffy will walk whichever the group wants to do first, then after coming back to the VFW hall, will do the other loop if there are those willing. Buffy likes to show off these walks and all the interesting things she has found.

It's up to you. If you keep IVV record books, do both loops for 13km credit.

We ask for a small donation so we can afford to put on walks like this. Children under 12 who do not keep IVV record books are free. Those who stamp IVV record books pay $4 and we provide sticker stamps at the finish.

We walk regardless of weather, so come prepared! Remember, there is no bad weather, just bad clothes.
