Thursday morning group walk in Shelton
Details
Come walk with us in historic Shelton! Please arrive early as the walk starts promptly at 10 am.
The walk is 10K (6.2 mile), on pavement with a long hill, though part of the route goes on a hilly dirt trail along Shelton Creek. There is an option to stay on pavement by walking on a sidewalk alongside a street instead. There are two other distances available, but both require driving to start those walks. There is a 5K (3.1 mile) option which stays downtown. The 6K (3.7 mile) is at the airport and is on paved surfaces with modest hills. Well-behaved, leashed dogs welcome (but not in Fred Meyer) with owner cleanup.
This walk is hosted by the Capitol Volkssport Club. Everyone is welcome, but everyone must sign the waiver to participate. Club members do not usually sign up using Meetup, but you can expect between five and 10 club members on a Thursday walk. The club has costs to put on these walks, so we ask for a donation to help offset those costs.
The 10K walk (Shelton Creek trail version) is a narrow and steep dirt trail, so not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs. Use the sidewalk alternate route instead.
