What we’re about
This group is for lovers of Korean dramas and other Asian TV, movies, music (K-Pop!), books, food and culture. Since Evelyn Angry-Smith founded this group in early 2015, we’ve enjoyed movie nights, K-Drama premieres, holiday parties and NYC trips. We also explored restaurants in CT, NY and MA.
In 2020 we went virtual due to the pandemic. We hope to restart in-person Meetups if possible in 2021, and we’ll continue virtual Meetups since many of us don’t live near CT.
We also have a Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/swkdrama - and a members-only chat.
Feel free to join us!

Paprika is a 2006 Japanese animated surrealistic science fantasy psychological thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon, who co-wrote the screenplay with Seishi Minakami. The film follows a battle between an unknown "dream terrorist" who causes nightmares by stealing a device that allows others to share their dreams, the research psychologist Dr. Atsuko Chiba, and a personality named Paprika—a dream detective who shares Atsuko's mind. Paprika was Kon's fourth and final feature film before his death in 2010. Check out the movie trailer here!
After the movie, let’s have dinner at Pho 99 in Manchester, CT at 5:30pm! If you can go to dinner as well, RSVP Yes to the separate Meetup event by Sunday, January 5th at 8pm.
This event has an RSVP limit, so please only RSVP if you plan to attend. If you RSVP and discover that you can't attend, please update your RSVP to Not Attending as soon as possible so that someone else can join us.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
