About us
Southampton Walking & Moving Meditation 🌿
Practice being in the present moment — while walking, moving and connecting with nature.
Come and spend some time in nature with fresh air, gentle movement and good company.
Walking and moving meditation is a simple way of practising mindfulness without having to sit still. We slow down, become aware of our bodies, our breath and our surroundings, and give ourselves permission to simply be here, in this moment.
Our walks may include:
- 🌿 Mindful walking and connecting with nature
- 👣 Walking meditation and moments of silence
- 🌀 Gentle, intuitive and free movement
- 🌬️ Breathing and grounding exercises
- 💭 Reflection and simple mindfulness practices
- 💬 Time to talk, connect and meet like-minded people
What happens at a typical meeting?
Each event will be a little different depending on the location and theme, but we’ll usually:
Walk → Pause → Notice → Move → Connect → Reflect
We’ll start with a relaxed walk, gradually slow down and become more aware of our surroundings. Along the way we’ll stop for simple mindfulness or grounding practices and spend some time moving freely and mindfully.
There is no right or wrong way to do this, and you don’t need any previous meditation experience. You don’t need to be flexible, spiritual or “good at meditation” either. 😊
This is simply a chance to step away from everyday life, move your body, breathe, connect with nature and spend some time with other people.
Come alone or bring a friend or family member — everyone is welcome. 🌿
Some events may have a particular theme, such as grounding, letting go, stillness or reflection. We may also organise special walks around the seasons, sunsets, full moons and other beautiful moments in nature.
You don’t have to sit still to meditate. Sometimes the best place to find stillness is while you’re moving.
