🍂 Letting Go — Walking & Moving Meditation in Nature
As autumn arrives and nature begins to let go of what it no longer needs, we’ll use this beautiful season as an invitation to explore letting go — through walking, movement, mindfulness and connection with nature.
You don’t need any previous meditation experience, and you don’t need to sit still to meditate.
Walking can be meditation. Movement can be meditation. Being in nature can be meditation.
During our time together, we’ll slow down and bring our attention to the present moment, using the changing autumn landscape around us as inspiration.
🍂 What we’ll do
We’ll begin by coming together and I’ll explain the theme and what we’ll be doing during the walk.
Then we’ll head out for a relaxed walk, with opportunities to:
👣 Walk mindfully — becoming aware of our movement and the experience of walking.
🍁 Connect with nature — noticing the colours, sounds, textures and changes happening around us.
🌀 Explore moving meditation — gentle, intuitive movement with no choreography and no right or wrong way to move.
🍂 Explore the idea of letting go — using movement, nature and simple mindfulness practices as an invitation to release, rather than hold on.
💭 Pause & reflect — with a few simple questions to consider what we might be ready to let go of and what we’d like to make space for.
💬 Connect with others — we’ll have time to chat, share and get to know each other along the way.
Welcome → Walk → Notice → Move → Reflect → Connect
🌿 What does “letting go” mean?
It doesn’t mean that we have to forget something, solve something or force ourselves to move on.
Sometimes letting go can simply mean putting something down for a moment.
A thought.
A worry.
An expectation.
Something we’re holding onto.
Just as trees let go of their leaves when the season changes, we can explore what it might feel like to create a little more space within ourselves.
There is no right or wrong way to experience this. You can participate as much or as little as feels comfortable for you.
Come alone or bring a friend or family member — everyone is welcome. ❤️
Come and walk, move, breathe, connect with nature and perhaps leave something behind. 🍂
Wear comfortable clothing and suitable shoes for walking outdoors, and bring some water.
