Playing with Fyre

Hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia, Playing with Fyre is a versatile band comprised of renowned pianist and composer George Paul, power percussionist Steve Kemble, and fiddler extraordinaire Rob Zisette. Known for driving contra dancers into delighted delirium, this trio plays a diverse range of music, from pulsing reels to ethereal waltzes, from jazz and blues to original tunes that defy categorization. They’re lots of fun in concert, too, where they’re free to change up the tunes and the tempos without worrying about tripping up dancers! Expect to hear a few familiar tunes, and a lot more music that’s new to you.

(Fun fact: George played at our very first house concert, when we hosted with The Avant Gardeners way back in 2013. We finally managed to get him booked again, 74 concerts later!)
