Packet in the Park

Details
Are you interested in Packet Radio? Packet Radio is essentially using a modem (for those who remember modems) to send data from one computer to another using a Ham Radio. It is a far more efficient way to transmit information reliably than voice, and is a key part of Emergency Communications in Santa Clara County.
Packet Operators use their equipment to complete a packet check-in each week to test both their own equipment, and to ensure the county infrastructure is working. At Packet in the Park I will complete my check-in, and if you like, you can try checking in via packet radio yourself using your call sign and my rig, or perhaps that of another packeteer who signs up!
As extra incentive, I will bring along supplies to make Lattes!
I will try to monitor the W6ASH Repeater while I am there.
