Lantern Light Village
December 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20, 2025
5:00–8:30 p.m. (9:00 on Saturdays) | Timed entry

Step into the past and experience the magic of the holidays at Lantern Light Village. As twilight falls, Mystic Seaport Museum glows with the warm flicker of lanterns and the sparkle of music-filled light displays. Stroll through our waterfront village, transformed into a festive wonderland alive with the sights, sounds, and flavors of a bygone holiday.

Climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage, warm yourself by crackling fires, and share your wishes with Saint Nick. Inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, this year’s Lantern Light Village invites you to join the residents of Greenmanville—and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—as they work to soften Scrooge’s heart and bring the joy of the season to all of Mystic.

Step onto the deck of the historic whaleship Charles W. Morgan for live holiday music, try your hand at seasonal crafts, and create cherished memories with family and friends. Lantern Light Village is a heartwarming tradition filled with wonder, nostalgia, and just the right touch of holiday magic. Discover why so many return year after year to celebrate the season with us.

This event has staggered entry times every 15 minutes, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Additional entry time on Saturdays.

Ticket prices vary by day with prices ranging from $17 to $28 for Youth and from $25 to $40 for Adults. Children 3 and under are FREE.

What exactly is Lantern Light Village?
Lantern Light Village is a self-guided holiday journey through time. You’ll start your adventure at the Museum’s North Entrance, with twinkling lights, carolers, and a visit with Saint Nick. As you explore the Museum further, you’ll enter the realm of the 19th century to join the residents of Greenmanville (along with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future!)

Take in our riverside campus after dark with the tastes and sounds of the season, from holiday cookies and carolers, to old-time dances, a horse-drawn carriage ride, crackling fires, family crafts, music, and more. The experience is mainly outdoors and on uneven ground. Please dress accordingly and bring a personal flashlight.
