South Philly Jam at Settlement School, Queen Village, Free Parking
We play at the Settlement School for Music, located at 416 Queen Street, Philadelphia on Thursday Evenings 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Our jam conforms to school year, starts in September and ends mid-June. Our parking is free. We offer unrestricted parking on the Settlement School lot. The South Philly Jam Invites amateur musicians, singers who can play any instrument at any skill level join us. Singers are welcome, if your voice is your instrument, no need to play an instrument. We have a friendly, no-judgement musical culture. We are supportive of ourselves and other participants in ways that promote group musicianship and singing. We have an acoustic sound and welcome acoustic 6 or 12 string guitar, uke, bass, harmonica, percussion instruments (e.g. tambourine, box drums), electric bass guitar and keyboards. Singers of all abilities are welcome. We provide PA amplification for singers that prefer a microphone. What to expect at our Jam? We play popular classic rock, blues, folk, R&B songs suited for acoustic guitar. We select songs in a "round the circle" method but will stop play to listen to a Youtube request by any participant of any song suggested in the circle as a reference for singers and guitar players. What should I bring to meet-up? Bring an instrument if you play, capo if you play guitar. We provide song books, music stands, piano. To cover costs for meet-up fees, printing costs we collect a minimum $1 contribution at each meet-up from each participating player. To cover Settlement costs, new members pay a one time a school year fee of $25 to the Settlement School this low fee covers room, facilities and insurance costs. Not sure you want to join? The South Philly Jam Invites amateur musicians, singers who can play any instrument at any skill level join us for some or all of the Jam. We are musicians and singers who share the importance of having fun.

We have an acoustic sound and welcome acoustic 6 or 12 string guitar, uke, electric bass, harmonica, percussion instruments, electric bass,keyboards, fiddle are all welcome. Is your voice your instrument? Come and sing. Play, play and sing or sing.

What are the costs: There is a $25 annual Settlement registration (September-June school year) fee as a community student with the Settlement School. Join on a trail basis. This fee is payable for new students after their second visit ( trial visit, no charge).
